FicSumar: Saving Account for Latam - Case Study
This project marked the endeavor to establish an investment savings account for Banco de Bogotá, a prominent Colombian bank with extensive operations across Latin America. As a member of the project team, we assumed the responsibility of developing the project from end-to-end , encompassing research, design, and delivery to development, including the creation of a comprehensive design system.

Problem
The organization’s strategic objective was to compete with Neo Banks and startups in Latin America. Our aim is to digitalize their traditional services, including investment, accounts, and savings, thereby establishing the organization’s inaugural 100% online account for Colombia.
Research
The research process began with bottom-up interviews and open-structured questionnaires to gain insights into customers’ experiences with banking, the current platform, their pains, gains, and the main issues we aimed to address. Additionally, we developed a user journey to consolidate these insights, understand the process, compare it to competitors’ standard processes, and identify the value proposition we were adding to our customers, which was faster investment within the app.
Ideation
The ideation stage required to develop a user flow, an extensive user flow, comprehending the happy path, plus the e-roll path on all the alternative routes. Plus, we started developing wireframes and started developing prototypes to test again with users the iterations.
Design
We have successfully concluded the development process, which included the creation of tests for car sorting, usability, accessibility, and other critical areas. We have launched the handoff, which includes not only the wireframes but also a well-documented design system that encompasses all components and screens. This comprehensive documentation will serve as a foundation for developers to pair the screens and begin the implementation process.
